Wang Rudong is a senior master of arts and crafts, a first-class (senior) technician in arts and crafts, with 25 years of experience in jade carving. He has been awarded titles such as "Shanghai Master of Arts and Crafts" and "Chinese Youth Jade Carving Master." He currently serves as the artistic director of the Shanghai Jixu Jade Carving Art Studio. His works are rooted in the Shanghai-style jade carving tradition, integrating modern aesthetics to create a unique style, especially excelling in figures, landscapes, and Buddhist themes. He incorporates the landscape aesthetics and figure spirit of traditional Chinese painting and calligraphy, as well as the philosophical connotations of Buddhist culture, into his jade carvings. With exquisite craftsmanship, he endows his works with profound cultural heritage and spiritual beauty. His creations inherit the essence of traditional culture while injecting contemporary artistic innovation, making significant contributions to the preservation and development of Shanghai-style culture.
