The company has been operating as an antiques dealer mainly in the Senshu region (Kaizuka City and Kishiwada City) since the end of the Edo period. The current head of the company, Yamada Yukihiro, is the fifth generation. The company building, with its distinctive large painted doors, is a registered tangible cultural property. For over 50 years, the company has been selling antiques, especially tea ceremony utensils, mainly to major department stores. Targeting a wide range of customers, from antique novices to tea ceremony instructors, the company handles a wide range of items, from affordable items to expensive items such as Raku tea bowls. In recent years, the company has also been focusing on nurturing young, up-and-coming artists.
